When preparing for an event, it is important for users to verify that the encoded ID on their batch of chips matches the Event Code/Tag ID printed on each UHF tag. The following steps will allow users to spot check selected tags for accuracy:
- Connect an Ethernet cable from reader to computer
- Connect a single cable/antenna to any port on the reader
- Power the reader ON
- After the boot process is complete, open a browser window (Chrome is preferred)
- Enter reader IP address into the URL bar and press Enter
- Select the Menu icon (three horizontal bars) in the left-hand corner
- Click Settings
- Under Race, set RF Output to Minimum
- Click the top-center arrow button to save changes
- Hold a single tag approximately 3.5 feet above the antenna
- NOTE: When tag is read, the display window on the reader will show the number associated with the tag. Ensure that the number on the display matches the printed number on the tag.
- Perform this validation on every 25th tag (IE 1, 26, 51, 76, 101 etc.)
- Once validation is complete, repeat steps 4 - 9 to return the reader power back to Max
