Upon starting your program, or when you click Check for Updates, you may see the following error message:
This is due to changes made to HyTek servers regarding how checks for new updates are handled; update-checks are now handled using a different protocol that is more secure. Previous method used to check for updates has been disabled as of February 1st, 2018.
There are currently no plans to update previous versions of our products to support new update-check method, so if you wish to stop the error from appearing, please upgrade to the latest version of your software.
- Note: Error should not affect the use of the software otherwise.
- Note: If you're running older versions of the software, you will be able to use the installation CD to reinstall the software but will be unable to install any updates released for that version via the software. Please see Error Updating Hy-tek Software for instructions on manually installing previous updates.
