Group Types allow you to categorize and distinguish between various group assignments associated with a program or participant. While the system functionality remains identical across all selections, using unique types enables you to place a single participant into multiple distinct groups, such as a cabin group and a team group simultaneously.
When you create a new group assignment, the first thing you will be asked is what type of assignment you wish to create. The system prompts you to select from pre-created options like cabins, teams, and classes, or you can build your own custom group types. The chosen term for your group type will display alongside that specific group assignment wherever you manage it throughout the system.
