Why Best Practices MatterHigh-volume registration periods can be fast-paced and competitive. To ensure a smooth registration experience, both organizations and registrants should follow these best practices. Proper preparation and understanding of the system will help prevent errors, avoid lost registrations, and create a more seamless process for everyone involved.
Best Practices for a Successful Registration
- Use Only One Browser and Tab
- Avoid opening multiple tabs or using different browsers to register simultaneously. The registration platform is designed to function on a single tab or browser. Having multiple instances open can result in being automatically logged out or encountering errors.
- Understanding Camp Spot Availability
- A camp spot is only confirmed once it is added to your cart. Availability can fluctuate between when you first access registration and when you finalize your selection, so act quickly once you see an available spot.
- Avoid Excessive Page Refreshing
- Frequently refreshing the registration page before it opens can lead to errors or miscommunication with the system. Instead, close the tab or browser and reopen the registration link when it’s time to register.
- Ensure a Strong Internet Connection
- For a seamless registration experience, use a reliable Wi-Fi network or cellular signal and stay in a stable location until your registration is complete to avoid interruptions.
- Be Mindful of the Registration Time Limit
- Registrations have a 15-minute inactivity timer. As long as you continue moving through the registration process, the timer will not start. However, if you remain inactive for 15 minutes, your cart will be reset, and you will need to start over.
- Reopening a Closed Registration
- If you accidentally close out of the registration, you can reopen it by clicking the original registration link. Your cart will remain intact for the same 15-minute inactivity period.
- Registering Multiple Participants
- If registering multiple participants, ensure you select the correct number of spots by clicking ‘Add to Cart’ multiple times or adjusting the quantity within your cart before proceeding.
- Check Your Login Credentials in Advance
- Before registration day, log in to your parent portal to verify that your email and password are correct. If you need to reset your password, use the ‘Forgot Password’ option on the login screen.
- Reporting Issues Effectively
- If you encounter any issues, providing detailed information will help in troubleshooting. Useful details include:
- The browser and device you were using
- The camp or program you were registering for
- The date and time of the issue
- A screenshot of any error messages you received and where you saw them
