Group Types are a designation of different group types.
The functionality is the same for each Group Type however it enables a differentiation between multiple Group Assignments associated with a program or a participant.
A participant can be in a Cabin group type, and a Team group type for the same program
When you create a new group assignment, the first thing you will be asked is what type of assignment you wish to create. You can choose from a number of pre-created options like cabins, and teams, and classes, or you can create your own custom group types. Whatever you choose, the term for the type of group that you choose will show up in association with that group assignment wherever you manage that group throughout the system.
