Learn how to upgrade the firmware for the Decoder in your IPICO Lite Reader.


 
Instructions:
  1. Ensure reader power is ON
  2. Connect USB A-B cable between reader and computer
  3. In Windows search bar, type Device Manager and click Enter
  4. Click arrow beside Ports to expand menu 
    • NOTE: COM number for connected reader will be listed in parentheses.
  5. Locate Decoder folder
  6. Double-click ReaderUpgrade.exe
  7. Select COM number from drop-down menu
  8. Click the ... icon beside File
  9. Locate firmware (in Decoder folder)
  10. Open
  11. Click Upgrade
    • NOTE: It is normal for the buzzer to make a constant tone during the update process.
    • NOTE: If the update fails, close the window, restart the reader (power off and then on), and then retry.
  12. When update completed, screen will repeatedly display "The operation has timed out.", and buzzer tone will cease
