IPICO Lite Readers with a serial number of AB000251 and greater come equipped with a Lantronix wireless network processing module, which allows these readers to function as distinct hotspots that can be connected to remotely through a WiFi equipped computer. Please note that in instances where two or more readers are used, to which a single connection is desired, IPICO recommends the use of an external WiFi bridge.
- Configure Wireless and Local Area Network (LAN) adapters with static IP
- Note: For additional information, please see Assign Static IP Address to Computer
- Connect Ethernet cable to computer and Lite Reader
- Open Internet Explorer
- Select Tools > Compatibility View Settings
- Add the following IP address: 10.19.1.51
- Note: This is the default IP address that is configured on all new readers. However, if the IP address of your reader is different, please enter it here instead.
- In Internet Explorer, enter http://10.19.1.51 (or other IP address, if different)
- On pop-up window, click OK
- Note: No Username or Password is required.
- From left column, select Network
- Set Network Mode to Wireless Only
- Note: In order to return the reader to Wired mode, you must repeat this process, changing the Network Mode back to Wired Only.
- Click OK
- Optional: From left column, select WLAN
- Note: Make any desired changes to Network Security settings and click OK.
- From left column, click Apply Settings
- Note: The reader will take several moments to apply the changes. You will need to refresh your browser to verify the changes were successful.
- Note: Not completing this step will result in the changes not being saved, and the reader will not function in Wireless mode.
