Google Analytics (GA4) Setup
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is Google’s latest analytics platform, designed to track website and app activity using an event-based data model. GA4 provides insights into user behavior, traffic sources, engagement, and conversions, with improved cross-device tracking and privacy controls. This article outlines what is needed to enable GA4 tracking in Camp and Class Manager.
Important: GA4 tracking configuration must be completed by our team.
Before You Begin
To enable GA4, your organization will need:
- A Google Analytics account
- A GA4 property and web data stream
- A Measurement ID (G-ID) from your GA4 property
Many organizations also use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to manage GA4 tracking and events in one place.
How to Enable GA4 Tracking
To request GA4 setup:
- Gather your GA4 Measurement ID (G-ID)
- This can be found in your GA4 property under Data Streams
- Contact your Account Manager
- Our team will configure GA4 tracking for your organization
Note: The Tracking ID field in Organization Settings is no longer active and entering values there will not enable tracking.
Additional Information
- GA4 uses an event-based tracking model, allowing for more flexible and detailed reporting
- It includes automatic tracking (Enhanced Measurement) for common actions like page views, scrolls, and clicks
- GA4 supports cross-platform tracking, helping you understand user behavior across devices
